67th avenue.

5.26.10
+failed to pack a lunch for work this day so I went to the cheapest place to dine-taco bell! I gave a tract to the man who handed me my delicious-oh-so-not-healthy meal. he seemed grateful for the tract.

5.27.10
+happy golden birthday to my sister! she rocks! and loves anything mexican. so! we went to a salvadorian (?) restaurant. it was soooo good. probably the best taco I've ever had in my life. this place was legit. anyway, it's funny because not planning on it, just two days ago I stuck two spanish tracts in my bag for the first time, just in case my english ones would not suffice. well, this was the perfect opportunity to give it! I'm pretty sure our waitress spoke english too, but it seemed appropriate to give the spanish one. I prayed for her, and her co-workers at the restaurant. (and hope to visit this delicious spot again soon!)

5.28.10
+stopped by hy-vee on my lunch break to get a sweet deal on fruit. raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries, three for 5 bucks!!! raspberries are my second favorite fruit ever. I also snagged a pinneapple and a few bananas. I was on duty this whole weekend so I thought a nice fruit salad might be nice to have while I'm all cooped up in the dorm! this also gave me my opportunity to give out my tract to Julie, my cashier.

5.29.10
+stuck on a very quiet campus, God still gave me an opportunity to give out a tract on my rounds. I was in building A and handed a girl one while she was on her way out.

5.30.10
+my friends were home so we ordered a pizza! I love to order pizza, it makes me feel cool. I was glad, because this would be a prime opportunity to give a tract. but when I tried to offer our delivery man a tract, he unhappily said, "I've already read that one." I just said okay and then prayed for him.
+so again, on my rounds, another opportunity to hand a girl walking in building M a tract while I was walking out. she looked at me really weird with an "okay..." all I can do is just smile.

5.31.10
+this morning my lovely duty phone rang at 8:30. lockout. I was actually excited that God had given me an opportunity so early in the day! I prayed for James today.

Luke 9:24

love, save the empty

5.20.10
+went to get a gift certificate for a friend this day. the man at the bar just told me to sign the receipt and then he walked away. so, I left a million dollar tract under my signed receipt, praying it would catch his eye, and that the gospel would too.

5.21.10
+traveled up to minnesota this weekend to visit some grand friends. we went out to eat at the local restaurant, the hub. I left my tract with my tip on the table for our waitress.

5.22.10
+on our way out of minnesota, we stopped to get gas. as I sat in the car as my friend filled up, I contemplated whether or not to go in and buy something so I could give the man a tract. I decided that this might be my only opportunity so I went in and bought a water for 59 cents. oh, and my friend wanted some pretzels! when I handed the man the tract, he said he had actually seen on before, only with president bush's face on it. he said he would read mine though and see if it had the same message.

5.23.10
+I stopped at hy-vee on my way to a LOST finale party to pick up chips & salsa. I left two tracts with my bright blue shirted cashier and sacker. they seemed excited about the fake money.

5.24.10
+at work this day, one of my co-workers and I were talking about my mom. Dorothy has much compassion. while I was telling her my mom's story, she could hardly keep tears back. our conversation was very short, but I told her that it's been really hard, but that we are okay because my mom knows where she is going. Dorothy replied, "I just don't know if I could have that much faith" and then walked away. for a moment I just sat at my desk. it really bothered me. that sentence. I just prayed for the next few minutes, kind of frustrated that our conversation had ended so fast. our work day was almost over and I knew that this was an open door. after about 5 minutes of sitting and trying to keep working, I fished for my bag and found a tract, marched over to the allergy shot room. I told Dorothy that the message inside the booklet has encouraged my mom and I and asked her if she would read it. Dorothy stuck it in her pocket. Dorothy is an older lady and a dear friend of mine. I don't really know what kind of background she has, but I am praying that God would speak to her heart and that she would one day have faith in Him.

5.25.10
+I think I barely made it to work this day-my gas tank was in need of some filling! on my lunch break I drove to the closest station and filled up. I paid with my card, but again, contemplated going inside to buy something so I could share. I decided on a pack of gum. as I handed Scott the track, I also felt his two co-workers' eyes beaming down at me. I prayed for him, and that his co-workers would read it too.

silent prayers get answered.

5.11.10
+I received a phone call from a resident who needed to pick up an important package. I met him at the clubhouse and then decided to take a chance, and hand him a tract. he took it and started to walk away but then turned around and asked me what it was about. I told him Jesus. he then came back and told me that he was actually going to a catholic seminary in a couple months. I told him that was awesome, but then asked him that if he were to die today, how sure he was that he would go to heaven. he gave me and answer that led me to think he was saved but then I asked if he considered himself to be "born-again" and he didn't really give me a straight answer, so..I don't really know where he stands-but God does. we had a good conversation about church and I hope he truly does live out the great commission and that Taylor is successful in his seminary studies.

5.12.10
+stopped at hy-vee for some bread & bananas. I left a tract with Jessica.
+did you know you can wear tennis shoes for 2 months and then return them to kohls for full refund? I bought asics for the first time ever, and they killed my feet. I was grateful that they would take mine back. nike, I promise to never leave you ever again! it was here that I left a tract with Jay. C.

5.13.10
+now on a hunt for new nike tennis shoes, I scoped out oakview only to find nothing I was looking for. I left a tract with one of the custodians of the mall who was just sitting, taking a break. I pray he read the message and that God spoke to his heart.

5.14.10
+stopped at my typical bucky's, hoping to get the girl I know I hadn't given a tract to yet. well, the lady who ended up being my cashier, I knew I had already given one to her. so I had to step out of my comfort zone a little more! right after I paid I turned around and handed one to the guy behind me in line. he took it with a smile.

5.15.10
+I left a tract with our waitress, Eva, at iHop.

5.16.10
+my brother's grad party was this day. it was t-minus 45 minutes until the guests were going to arrive and we realized we had no ketchup for the hot dogs! I offered to run to hy-vee (with hidden "tract motives" of course!). I found the ketchup, got in line, and purchased it while giving a tract to Margaret. as I walked quickly to my car to make it back to the ketchup-lacking guests at our house, my dad called wondering if I could get one more thing. well. this might be awkward. but! I went back in, grabbed a 3-hour-log for our fire pit and found me a new line to check out of. I handed a second tract with Forlecia. two items, two cashiers, two tracts, one store, five minutes. I just smile at how God works. I pray those two girls get saved.

5.17.10
+still on a tennis shoe hunt (buying new kicks is serious business), I left a tract with a girl walking in westroads mall.

5.18.10
+yep. still shoe-less. I walked around village point looking for a great shoe deal, and the lost. I left two tracts with two ladies walking.

5.19.10
+okay, normally I've found kicks by now (I'm really not a big shopper) but for some reason I just haven't bought any yet. I went to sports authority on my way home from work. they had the cheapest I've seen yet! I still left with no shoes, but they're having some shipped over for me in my size! yay! cheap and sweet kicks on the way. can't wait. one of the employees at this location is one of my old co-workers from applebees. we always catch up, and before I left I handed Gerry a tract. he took it, folded it, stuck it in his pocket and told me I was a nerd. haha! never thought I would get that response. he just had a baby and is getting married soon. as I was leaving the store I couldn't think about anything but the future of his family. I prayed he would get saved and that God would give them all direction and purpose.

roots that grow deep, deep, deep into the ground.

5.7.10
+before work, I stopped by parables to pick up a gift for my friend, who graduated! across the street is my favorite little king in omaha. the people that work there gave me & my mom free cookies once, and are just super cool, so I love going there. I decided to stop for lunch! as I was handed my food through the window, I handed Dwayne a tract. he is one that I remember so it was cool to get to give him one. I prayed for the staff at little king, and that they may come to now the real King someday.

5.8.10
+I was on duty alllll day this day. honestly, there were a few times I left my dorm with no armor. I was kind of frustrated with myself and for the first time feared that I was actually going to miss a day. but lo and behold, God came through. I was on the second to last building on my last round for the night and was just praying, and a girl was walking up the sidewalk as I was walking out. I gave her a tract and prayed for her. God always comes through, even if it's the bottom of the ninth.

5.9.10
+my dad and I went to wal-mart to get some chicken for dinner. we gave a tract to our cashier.

5.10.10
+sometimes I just get these random cravings for frozen pizza. today was one of those, plus, I needed to give my tract out for the day! I stopped by hy-vee on my way home and gave a tract to my nice cashier/sacker, Ashley and Adam.

Thursday, May 6, 2010

You hold the universe, You hold everyone on earth.

4.29.10
+rain or shine, I will still give my tract! this day it was definitely raining out, and I handed my tract to a girl walking by the mav village clubhouse.

4.30.10
+stopped by scooters and gave my barista a tract.
+one of my residents was moving out this evening so I gave Ali a tract before he left.

5.1.10
+stopped at hy-vee to get a flower for my mom and I left a tract for Jaques, my cashier. he received it with a smile as well.

5.2.10
+I took one of my friends to work today and she had a frappuccino. it looked soooo good. so before I headed back to campus I stopped at a gas station and bought one, thus allowing me to give out my tract! I handed one to Shane, and he seemed surprised and excited for getting the tract. and I really enjoyed drinking my frappuccino while working the desk all day!

5.3.10
+ran some errands today, so I left a tract with Jordan, my cashier at shopko, and then one also with my cashier at target, named Becky.

5.4.10
+it was my turn to be a "birthday buddy" at work today. so before work I first stopped at hy-vee to get a steal-six bucks for an oreo cake! I left my tract with Chris.
+then I drove by scooters to get a gift card, and left one with the girl working.
+then stopped over to subway, for another gift card and left one with the man working.
+then when I had written out the birthday card to my co-worker I inserted a tract, with the best gift of all-the message of eternal life. I pray Terry one day comes to know Christ personally. I pray for her often.

5.5.10
+went to hy-vee again, because they're strawberries were way on sale (97 cents!!) and I was craving them all day. I also picked up some snacks for my roommate, it was her birthday! I left my tract with Johnny.

5.6.10
+I received a gas gift card for my birthday (yes! I love practical gifts!) and was in much need of gas today on my way home from work. I stopped at my usual bucky's and purposefully chose to pay with my card inside. there were two people working, one of them I have actually already given one to, so I was thankful she was busy, because then Angelo got to receive the Message. I pray for his salvation.

Acts 18:9-10
One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, "Don't be afraid! Speak out! Don't be silent! For I am with you, and no one will attack and harm you, for many in this city belong to Me.

the world's about to change.

4.14.10
+my lab got out early this day and I hadn't given out a tract yet, so before the rock I wandered around the student center. I found a girl on a couch and handed her a tract.

4.15.10
+I stopped at brueggers bagels and handed my tract to Mark as I went through the drive-thru.

4.16.10
+handed a tract to a girl in front of building M in maverick village.

4.17.10
+I was working the desk all day, as usual, and two campus security guards came in. I tried to find some information for them, help them out, etc. they stayed for a little while and we chatted (about church actually!) but before they left I handed them both tracts.

4.18.10
+handed a tract to a girl walking down to the UV valley.

4.19.10
+while I was waiting for my friend, I gave a girl sitting on a bench near me a tract.
+gave a tract to a girl named Nickie after we shared the gospel with her. after me and my friend talked to her, we ended up finding out she is the cousin of one of our really good friends in our church! we know she has heard the truth before. I pray one day it clicks.
+I also made a stop at hy-vee to get some food for my program. I handed Tim a tract as I left with all my junk food that the university paid for! woohoo!

4.20.10
+handed a tract to a guy walking into building A while I was on my rounds.

4.21.10
+I got the opportunity to hand a tract to a classmate named Alex. he is in several of my classes and was one that I have been praying for the opportunity to share with him. God answered.

4.22.10
+after work I stopped at zorinsky lake to kill some time. a random lady stopped her car to ask me directions. I don't really know the lake that well so I don't think I really helped her, but I felt this was a divine appointment to give her a tract! she said she would read it.

4.23.10
+my friends and I participated in relay for life this weekend. it was very tiring, but a blast! at the beginning we were helping some people set up their tent. here I met Taylor, and we talked for awhile. I ran into her/saw her several times throughout the night, and just kept praying that she would be the one I get to share with or at least give a tract to. God opened the door! she was so kind and just very willing to talk and listen. it was a good conversation and I am so thankful I got to know her. she said she would read the tract later, when she wasn't so tired! I pray Taylor comes to know Christ personally.

4.24.10
+stopped by taco-bell and handed a tract to the lady working drive-thru.

4.25.10
+handed a tract to a man as he was getting on his motorcycle.

4.26.10
+went to hy-vee to get some ice cream with my roommates! I handed a tract to Shirley.

4.27.10
+I made a late night stop to hy-vee on a mission for poster board. hy-vee was out. so. I drove over to bakers! God was obviously taking me there instead! as I grabbed my piece of (cheaper!) white poster board, I headed over to my lane. there was only one open, and the people ahead of me had a lot of stuff. the man in front of me told me to go to self check-out. "but then I don't get to give a tract!" I thought in my mind. I stubbornly told him I was going to stay in line. he then insisted that I go ahead of him since all I had was poster board. I said, no, it's okay, I can wait! he told me I must be a very patient person... I then told him I like to give something to cashiers when I go through the lind. he said "well, we all have our reasons." (??) he then went on to talk about his 4 teenage boys and how they made him come to the store. we small talked and then all the sudden I was asking him if I could give him what I give the cashiers. he said sure! and that he was excited to read it. my cashier, Margaret saw obama's face and said she wanted some obama money-this was before I even had asked her! then! the bagger lady, Pam, said that she wanted one too! I have never had anyone ask me for one so excitedly as these ladies did. Margaret even told me to come back, that she works all the time, and that I should ask her what she thinks. guess you know where I'll be getting my groceries soon!

4.28.10
+I handed a tract to a man walking down the stairs in the student center.

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

may it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ears.

4.5.10
+ate lunch at red robin and I left a tract on our table for our server.
+made a trip to the dmv...I'm turning 21 in two weeks! I left a tract with Jennifer, who took my picture.
+stopped by no frills to pick up a box of brownies, and I gave one to Ashley, my cashier.

4.6.10
+I needed to return my two books to the library so before I left, I stuck three tracts in my pocket. I handed one to a girl walking out, and then I got the idea to slide the other two tracts inside my books! I hope someone finds them someday!

4.7.10
+made a stop at trusty old wal-mart and left a tract with Lori.

4.8.10
+I was walking by the library again, and handed a man a tract. he was hesitant to take it, asking if I had one for myself. I told him I had lots and that that one was just for him!

4.9.10
+wal-mart gained my business once again and I left a tract with Cassandra. I also tried to give one to my sacker, but she said she already had one and had read it. she didn't seem to happy about it. I prayed for both of them.
+I also tried to give one to a girl a noodles & company, but she gave it back because she said she was a christian and wanted me to give the Message to someone who still needed to hear it. cool!

4.10.10
+I handed a tract to an older man that was walking into hper.
+there is a new card-slider worker at hper (secretly, my dream job...) so I left a tract with him as well.

4.11.10
+I handed a track to a student walking back to his dorm.

4.12.10
+stopped by my favorite grocery store, bakers and left a tract with my cashier.
+later, me & some friends went to coldstone (the best!!) and left tracts with the two cashier guys. it was cool because they were almost closed and so they were really busy getting receipts together, closing the drawer, ect., but when I handed them the tracts, the stopped what they were doing and started to read them.

4.13.10
+at work today, I was leaving and I asked my nurse co-worker if there was anything else I could do for her before I left. Vicki sarcastically said "yeah, you could give me a million dollars." I immediately reached down and pulled out a million dollar tract and said, "actually, I do have that!" I asked her to read the back, she smiled & laughed and said she would. I have been praying for this woman who desperately needs a savior. I've been praying that God would give me these "tract" opportunities at work. He is so faithful!

Sunday, April 4, 2010

april.

3.31.10
+this day I got a little creative. I stopped at the bank to cash a check and as I grabbed my money, I left a "do you know for certain?" tract in the little circle container, you know, at the teller window. (what are those called?) now, I'm not certain if the teller will get it, or the person who came after me, but I trust God allowed someone to see it.

4.1.10
+with that cash, I stopped at bucky's on my way to a visit home, and paid Connie. I also left her with a million dollar tract.

4.2.10
+on my lunch break from work I was craving a salty snack. I stopped in at shopko and looked around for a bit. I decided to just purchase some cheese ritz bits and leave Carol a tract.

4.3.10
+it was a late nighter, (man--I am so thankful for a college campus where someone is always awake!) and I was wondering around, praying, and ended up giving a tract to a guy walking quickly by. I asked if he would read it and he responded with a "heck yeah!"

4.4.10
+for some odd reason, after stuffing my face all day with grandma's noodles this easter sunday, I was still hungry and craving some ice cream. so late tonight, I unusually left my dorm, and drove down to wendy's for a chocolate frosty. mmm. I left my tract with April. It's weird because normally once I'm in for the night-I'm in. but I left on a little adventure. I prayed for her and the other workers at wendy's.

Isaiah 32:20
The Lord will bless His people. Wherever they plant seed, bountiful crops will spring up.

"whatsoever He saith unto you, do it"

3.23.10
+I handed a tract to a girl walking out of the fine arts building this night.

3.24.10
+had a coupon for bath & body works, so I gave a tract to my cashier, Diane.
+my GA for my p&a lab did not show up this day for class, but some of us waited for awhile anyway. I ended up walking out with a girl named Alison. I actually had my very first college class ever with this girl, intro to comp, 3 years ago! I had remembered her and have been praying for an opportunity. here it was! as we parted ways I handed her the tract. again, it's so funny who God will bring back into your life. man have I learned so much from Him since then.

3.25.10
+had to stop and get some necessities at baker's. I gave a tract to my kind cashier, Caya.

3.26.10
+walking out of hper after class, I ended up by another fellow classmate. we talked about nothiningness (class, test scores, boring world stuff...) and as he started to walk away I handed him a tract. Rick also lifeguards with Brian (a guy I had given a tract to awhile ago) during my swimming class so I see them often. maybe they will talk about it. maybe they will turn to Christ.
+my college friends all ate at arby's this day as well. I was one of the last to order and my cashier asked what we were a part of. I explained and asked if anyone had given him a tract yet. he said no, so I handed him one. I prayed for him.

3.27.10
+after church we all ate out at taco bell. I hadn't given out my tract yet, so I selfishly went first in line, so I could give my tract to Ron. he asked what it was about and I said, Jesus. he kind of just smiled and shook his head, while he set it to the side. but I still think he'll read it.
+another cool story, these random high schoolers walked in and one guy asked us if we were all together, and what group we were a part of. we all started scrambling for tracts & literature-my sister handed him info and some of our brothers went over to him and shared the gospel. how crazy he just--asked us who we were! I pray he gets saved and would come to church or the rock sometime.

3.28.10
+walking back to the dorm from the parking garage, I knew I still hadn't given out a tract. I prayed, and then there was one girl just sitting at a picnic table. thank you God for nice weather, picnic tables, and a girl!!

3.29.10
+on my way to a meeting, I stuck two tracts in my pocket. walking past me was a guy and girl. I handed them both a tract.

3.30.10
+I had a meeting with a professor today. on my way to his office, I ran into another classmate. he is in my swimming lane for class. it's quite difficult to hand a tract to someone in the water so it's been more challenging to reach that class, but God still provided! he took the track kindly and said he would read it. we do these cool down "walk and talks" when we're all done with our swimming workouts, so I'm anxious to see what Andrew will say the next time we have class.

Isaiah 26:12
Lord, You will grant us peace; all we have accomplished is really from You.

things only God can do.

3.19.10
+my tennis shoes had too many holes to count, and the rubber on the soles were all torn off--needless to say, I was in desperate need of some new kicks! I checked the ads and found a sweet pair on sale at kohls. (they're green!) it was here that I was able to give a tract to my cashier, Joyce.
+later this day after my brothers indoor track meet, my family went out to eat at a restaurant in lincoln called virginia's. very good. you should go there. we left a tract with our waitress.

3.20.10
+me and my siblings had our own little lunch at mama's pizza. it was a blast. the four of us consumed a large meat-lovers pizza and a dessert cookie with ice cream. we left a tract for our busser.

3.21.10
+coming back from break, I had no healthy food in my dorm so I made a wal-mart run to grab some fruits and vegetables. on my way out I asked the man who sits by the door if he had ever seen a tract before. he glanced at it and said he had and I asked him what his answer was to the question. he said he's been saved for a few years. praise the Lord! I continued to walk and passed a smoking man outside, I gave him a tract and he said someone gave him one yesterday. I asked if he read it and he said no. I continued to hand it to him and asked him to read it before he went to bed. immediately I was reminded of what my pastor had said on our missions trip. "statistically" it takes a person seven times to hear the gospel before they actually get it. I believe I could just be one of those seven people that was placed in that mans life. I prayed for his salvation.

3.22.10
+out gospeling, my friend and I wanted to talk to a girl, but we quickly found out she was deaf. I have never had this happen before where I couldn't engage in conversation, but--all I had to do was do what I've been doing the last three months, and that was simply just hand her a tract. it's nothing that we do anyway, but all by the power of God that speaks to one's heart.
+a little down the way my friend and I talked to a girl. Rebecca was going to class so it was kind of fast, but it was still a good convo. we left her with a tract and an invite to the rock.
+my friend and I parted ways, and I was thinking about lunch! but God wasn't finished with my gospeling adventure yet. remember my new custodian friend? Teresa was sitting on a bench in the mav walkway. I hadn't seen her in awhile, or since I had given her the tract, actually. I said hello and we small talked, and THEN! she told me she read the tract I had given her!!!! no one has ever brought that back up in conversation after I give it to them and say "tell me what you think." she told me her thoughts and we ended up having a really good conversation. I shared the gospel and hopefully explained things in a way that helped. I don't know exactly where her heart is but she definitely had that desire to know for certain. I encouraged her to keep praying. I also felt it was appropriate to invite her to church. maybe she will come. I continue to pray for her and I am encouraged that God is working in her heart.

I was reminded of what I read in a book I'm currently reading, Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby:
---"People will not seek God or pursue spiritual matters unless the Spirit of God is at work in their lives. Suppose a neighbor, a colleague, or one of your children begins to inquire about spiritual issues. You do not have to question whether God is drawing that individual. He is the only One who can do that. If they're asking, God is at work."

Philippians 3:3b
We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort.

decorah.

3.14.10
+this past week I traveled to northern iowa for a missions trip with my church. on this day, one of our cars needed fluid or something, so we stopped at a gas station for about half an hour. I stepped inside and handed a tract to a woman deciding what snack she was going to purchase. when I gave it to her she said "are you serious?" I replied with a "yes" and thought she wasn't going to accept it by her tone of voice. but, she took it with surprise and a smile and continued looking for a snack.

3.15.10
+in the little iowa town of decorah there were a lot of runners/walkers on the main street, close to where the church was. a sister and I were walking and I handed two girls that we passed a tract.

3.16.10
+on one of the days we went door to door to collect canned goods for a food bank. I handed a tract to a woman walking in her neighborhood.

3.17.10
+this day we were out can food driving again and I gave a tract to a man that had given me some cans.

3.18.10
+today I went to whole foods with my sister and mom. we went to the register to pay, and I asked my cashier if she had ever seen this tract before. she said yes, so, I kept it. I then began looking for another person. I saw a man behind the counter at customer service, but as soon as I was going to walk over there, he picked up his phone. aw man! but then mom encouraged me to give it to this guy that was going to pass us up ahead who also worked for the store. I handed it to him and he received it with an "ok." as we turned to go out the doors, I couldn't help but look back, and he had actually walked over to the customer service desk, and handed it to the man behind the counter, and he was flipping through it! hahaha! I freaked out and my mom and sister laughed at me. God got that man the Good News, regardless if he was busy when I had passed him. little things like this just bless my day, I love the Lord so much! I pray that booklet starts conversation amongst their workplace, and that God would be working in their hearts.

technology to tract.

3.12.10
+walking home from class, I gave a student a tract, telling him it was about Jesus and that it changed my life.

3.13.10
+after church me and my friend went to qdoba for some chow. the man behind me in line was on his cell phone and I interrupted him and handed him a tract. he kind of chuckled after I told him what it was about, but he accepted it, and put his phone aside for a minute to read it. I pray he thinks about the message he read on the back before he goes to sleep tonight.

gospel minded.

3.8.10
+went out sharing, the first girl we sat by was 90% sure, and understood that she had never accepted Christ, but wanted to. we didn't pray right there, but I firmly asked her to read the tract before she went to bed that night.
+walking away, I noticed one of my classmates that I've been praying for sitting by herself. we actually walked passed her, and I told my friend, "we have to go back." the night before I had actually just specifically written her name down on my prayer list, this had to be God leading! we talked, and Katherine said she had actually been approached before, "probably by our friends." she was really content with the idea that everyone was going to heaven. she had read a tract and told me that I should just keep mine. this wasn't what I was hoping for, but God still answered my prayer in giving me that opportunity to talk to her. God can break through. and, she still has to see me in class for the rest of the semester...Lord, use me!

3.9.10
+a friend and I went to dinner at jason's deli. long ago I worked at applebee's and my old manager was now working here! Arturo was one of my favorites. it was good to catch up with him, and he gave me 50% off my meal! yes! I gave him a million dollar tract and was encouraged when I saw him intently reading it as we sat down to our booth. I also gave one to the guy that we paid at the register. maybe they will talk about it. I really just love it when God brings past friends into my life to give tracts to. all day I had been anxiously awaiting to go there, planning to give a tract, and He put someone I knew right in that place. He is so creative! I pray they get saved.
+later, I had to take care of an inventory with one of my residents. we finished and were just chatting, and then he asked me if I was a part of the rock, and I said yes and then eventually it led into the gospel! his roommate actually slammed the door on us while we were talking, but I was immediately reminded of Romans 1:16. I pray Dan gets saved, and would get the courage to come to the rock one night.

3.10.10
+stopped by taco bell, and handed one of the workers a tract.

3.11.10
+another late nighter, I was walking out trying to find a pagan and actually ran into one of my favorite people ever! if you've read the beginning of my blog, it was actually the sister that challenged me to give out a tract a day. she offered me a ride back to my dorm, but I told her I was on my tract mission still. she got out, and went with me to find someone. all of the sudden this mass of people came out of the parking garage. we awkwardly weaseled our way into the middle to a girl and I handed her a tract. I think I startled her because I was wearing my hood and she took a couple steps back, but I trust she'll remember it and read the tract. I have no idea why God led me to her specifically, and I felt like a fool, but I trust He will use it and I pray for her salvation.

salvation is of Christ the Lord.

3.3.10
+as I left hper this day, I handed a tract to a girl walking in.

3.4.10
+I got home late this night, and was afraid no one would be out on campus. while I was exiting the parking garage however, I heard some loud voices from a car in the turn-around right behind my building. I don't normally walk that way, but I had prayed God would give me someone, and He did, I just had to take a slightly different route to get there. natalie was walking to her dorm while I handed her a tract.

3.5.10
+this day I was visiting my amazing mom at the hospital. as I left, there was a mom and her son sitting on a bench. I handed them a tract. the lady on the bench next to them saw me and I then asked her if she would like one too. she gave me a confident "yes" with a head nod.

3.6.10
+our kitchen trash was full, so I took it out, along with my armor, of course. as I was returning to my dorm I handed a guy a tract who was on his way to the dumpster.

3.7.10
+I am thankful for a job where I can freely share the gospel..for the most part anyway. I was actually on my rounds tonight when I passed a guy smoking and handed him a tract. I prayed for him. giving out the Good News always puts a little bit more spunk to my step. what a privilege we have to share this Truth.

one or two..

3.2.10
+a friend and I made a late-night run to walmart for a friend. she was a little under the weather and we decided to pick up a few things for her. we tried to leave a tract with a girl who helped us find cotton candy (our friend's favorite!), but she said she had read a tract before, and that she was a christian! so, when we checked out we left one with Krystal instead. she said she had read one, but kept looking at mine, like she was interested. I told her just to keep it, and asked her to read it again. sometimes, it just takes people more than one time to hear the gospel, to understand it. and that's ok. I pray that it sinks in a little deeper this time.

monday march madness.

3.1.10
+it's march! I heard a bird chirping on my way to class, it was a glorious sound. anyway, today my friend and I talked to Nadia today. she grew up muslim but is questioning things now and not strongly practicing, if that makes sense. we talked to her for a long time, both asking questions about each others faith, and sharing why Christ is different than any other prophet or religious leader. she was very kind and asked us for our emails. I pray God clarifies all of her questions, and that she makes Christ her Lord and Savior.
+while we walked away there were two marines sitting on a bench. I handed both of them million dollar tracts and thanked them for their service to our country.
+back in the mav village walkway our new custodian, Teresa was taking a break. I small talked with her, getting to know her a little bit more. she is great. as we parted ways I handed her a tract. she told me she would read it on her break. I pray she talks to me about it and that she comes to know Christ personally.

weekend.

2.26.10
+leaving the hospital early friday evening, I stepped into the elevator and a guy asked me where the nearest pepperjax was. his girlfriend needed the special ranch sauce they serve. he was very kind, we introduced and I tried to help him out. as we parted ways at the parking garage I handed him a tract. he seemed very grateful, and shocked that I would give him something. he was very kind and I trust he read the tract, and I hope he shared it with his girlfriend, along with her ranch.
+on my way back to campus, I picked up some ice cream for the night at bag'n'save, and handed one to my cashier, Lea.

2.27.10
+after church a very generous friend bought me a meal at wendy's. I had not given out my tract yet for the day so I handed it to an older couple sitting in a booth eating their food.

2.28.10
+me and a friend went to hy-vee to pick up some juice. I left a tract with our cashier, Phil.

Thursday, February 25, 2010

yup, still going!

2.23.10
+made another trip to the bank and left my million dollar deposit with Kat. she was a very enthusiastic girl and was excited about getting to keep the tract. after, I stepped next door into the bag'n'save to grab something quick. I left a tract with my cashier, Jessica.

2.24.10
+a friend and I stopped at mcdonalds and we left a tract with our cashier, her name was also Jessica. she started reading it right as I handed it to her.

2.25.10
+my brother took me to dinner at chipolte tonight. I left a tract with the man who made our delicious chicken tacos.

my soul cries out.

2.21.10
+on my way to meet up with my friend to head to our all church baptism, I passed a tract to a girl in the mav village walkway (definitely becoming a favorite spot for me!) she had a black jacket on with a NE emblem. she kindly accepted it with a smile.

2.22.10
+test today. I'm never the first to finish. if anything I try to stay the longest and use all the time I can, to check my work. today however, I finished 2nd! hope I did good...anyway, there is an older gentlemen in this class and he finished 1st. we kind of walked out together and he just started talking to me about the test. then I asked him about his major, he was in the military (woot!), etc. he liked to talk-but that's ok! we started walking out and as we were going to part ways I handed him the dollar bill tract. he stopped and glanced at it, and then said he would read it. I told him if he wanted, he could tell me what he thought about it next time we have class. so far, every time I say this no one brings it up again. so we'll see!
+me and my friend met up, but while I was waiting for her on a bench a girl was sitting next to me. she was mad because the doctor at health services wasn't in and she thought she had strep. I gave her a tract and told her I hope she feels better soon! as I walked away and turned to go up the stairs I could see her reading it.
+we talked to a guy and girl, they were christians and the guy had been to the rock a few times.
+then we met Shawna. she was very kind but as soon as we asked her if she knew where she was going she said, "are you christians?" she then told us about how she practices wicca. my heart sank. I honestly do not know much about this religion, but I do know that they are so lost. the more she told us the harder it was. it's just all based on twisted truth. sometimes I feel like there is no hope for girls like her, but she said one thing at the end, and that was that she didn't completely have it all figured out yet. we encouraged her to keep looking. I know God is way more powerful than I can imagine. I pray she stops believing the devil's lies, and turns to Christ's truths.

Matthew 9:36
When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

I am OK with snow.

2.19.10
+we have had a ton of snow these days, but this day, I was particularly grateful for a little more snowfall. as I was coming back to work after my lunch break, there was a man shoveling snow outside of the clinic I work at. I told him thanks for all his hard work and then handed him a tract. he didn't look up very long but took it with an "okay." I pray he read the tract.

2.20.10
+dad and I spent the day together, he is the custodian for the church that I grew up at and I tagged along to help. he took me to lunch after (what a great dad!) and we went to popeye's (his favorite). as we ordered, my fingers fished for my pocket tract but there wasn't one! I frantically kept searching in there hoping one would just appear, and it didn't. I must have left them in the car. I told dad and he said, well, I do have to make one more stop...perfect! so we enjoyed our lunch and then we headed over to the cleaning store to get vacuum bags. I gave a tract to the nice man who checked us out. later, my college group went to the amazing pizza machine, UNO was having a free pizza/games deal. it was a blast and me and a friend had a tract and gave it to a dude playing one of the games. I asked him to read it before he went to bed and he said, "sure!" the pizza was amazing, but God is even more amazing and I pray these people come to know that truth.

routes.

2.18.10
+again, another long day without actually handing out a tract. my friend dropped me off outside the back of my building tonight. all of the sudden, I look to my right, and this girl was walking right beside me. okay, God! I just said hi, she very nicely said hi back, and I said, "can I give you something? the message inside this little booklet changed my life and I like to share it with others. just read it before you go to bed tonight." she seemed surprised but very gratefully said thank you. then I turned into my building to call it good for the night. it's funny because earlier today I actually took a different route then normal on the way back to my dorm from class, just to switch things up, but I ended up not giving one. then God came through tonight, and planted that girl right there, in front of my home.

power of prayer.

2.17.10
+I had it on my mind all day today, my eyes peeled for the prime opportunity to give out my tract. well. it came to the end of my day, and I still hadn't given one out. I had actually tried giving one to a lady standing by herself outside of our rec center earlier, but as I handed it to her she asked me, "christian?" "I said yes I am..." she responded by saying, "me, too-God bless!" and handed the tract back to me. I was kind of sad because I got my tract back, but then smiled because I met another christian! so anyway, back to tonight, I got home and put my coat and shoes back on, and headed out for a little prayer walk/looking for a person to give my tract to. I eventually turned the corner in the direction of the library and saw a girl quite a ways off on her phone. I prayed, "God, if she needs this message then I pray her conversation ends by the time we pass ways." sure enough, she hung up and I gave her the tract. I think I kinda freaked her out--she responded with an "okay." as I walked off I was just amazed at how quickly God answered that prayer. I pray He amazes her heart too.

Let them all praise the name of the Lord. For His name is very great; His glory towers over the earth and heaven!

million dollar doughnuts.

2.16.10
+so I don't know what the deal is with my recent doughnut posts...but somehow it seems to be a theme! today I went to hy-vee to get a bunch of doughnuts for my residents tomorrow that will be attending my morning program. I explained to my cashiers why I was buying 4 boxes of doughnuts-they were super nice. I had to buy two separate orders because I was buying some things for myself as well, and needed to have two different receipts. well I got done paying and I gave both of them "million dollar" tracts. James was super excited and loudly claimed that he just got a million dollars. he also said, "the message really changed your life?!?!" I said, "yes! it did!" my sacker, Amanda was not as excited but she still took the fake bill. what was funny was that I started to leave with my cart but James came running after me telling me my UNO hy-vee card didn't work. the lady behind me in line must have been real confused seeing me try to pay with what looked like a fake credit card and fake million dollar bills...haha. we just ran the card again and all was well. but when I went back the million dollar bill peeking out of James's pocket caught my eye. would others see it and ask him about it too? will he share that message with his other co-workers? I pray they read the bills and that the message changes their lives too.

mouthy monday.

2.15.10
+I love mondays. tract giving is so exciting when you know you're guaranteed conversations! today was good. we first talked and gave a tract to Lizbeth. she was really willing to talk. she had a home church but we gave her a rock card with our tract and contact info. it seemed to brighten her day that we were interested in wanting to get to know her more and just be friends. our second conversation was with Casey. this was a quick one as she was a christian. we left her with a rock card. our last convo was with Elana & Nikki. Elana was a catholic and I don't know where Nikki stood, she didn't stay long but we gave her a tract when she left. however the convo with Elana lasted about 45 minuets. she had a very strong catholic background. she seemed pretty active in her faith and mentioned a lot about having that personal relationship with God. I'm still not certain if she is saved or not, but I do know that God knows her heart. we talked a bit on faith without works...I'm not sure if she really had a full grasp on grace, but I pray God makes that crystal clear. she had also mentioned during our conversation that she & Nikki had actually been approached many times by rockers/other organizations. she specifically didn't agree with the rock's approach of the christian faith on campus, but I often find it encouraging that we are a campus organization known for handing out gospel tracts or talking about Jesus. He's our focus for all we do. today was good. after talking I felt what I like to call a "spiritual high." I just love talking about HIM--especially with others that may not know Him personally.

Matthew 28:19-20
"Go therefore and make diciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

sunday morning doughnuts.

2.14.10
+my friend and I were raving about doughnuts last night on our way home from church and decided that we would go on a winchells run this morning for breakfast. we purchased our delicious chocolate covered doughnuts and handed Modesta a tract before we turned to pick out our booth. she seemed slightly confused but smiled and said thanks.

bucks at bucky's.

2.12.10
+this was another late-nighter tract. I arrived back at my dorm knowing I hadn't given one out yet. I hadn't checked my mail in a few days so I made a journey up to the clubhouse, praying again God would send me someone. no one on the way there. I got my mail, and then headed back. I made it all the way back to my dorm, and still no one! so I dropped my mail off, and then just went back out. I live on a college campus, there has to be someone awake at this hour! I just walked back through the main walkway, with two tracts in my pocket. then I saw them! two girls walked out of a building a little up ahead. I said excuse me and handed them both a tract, telling them the message inside changed my life. I do not know where they were headed off to that night, but I hope they thought about where they were headed to for eternity.

2.13.10
+on my way home to see my family and do laundry today, I needed to stop at my usual bucky's to fill up my car. normally, I just pay with my card so I never go in. but today, I still had that leftover cash in my wallet from that jacket I returned. woot! an excuse to go inside and hand out my tract! I went inside to pay my 25 bucks (don't you love it when you can get an exact number at the pump!?) and my cashier, Amy, asked me if there was anything else. I said, "actually, can I give this to you? the message inside changed my life and I like to share it with other people." she responded, "you bet! thanks!". she turned away and immediatly opened it to read it. I left smiling.
